STAFF CHANGES

Caitlin Braud, to First Baptist Church, Meridian, Miss., as children’s minister, effective April 16.

David Moore, to Cool Spring Baptist Church, Mechanicsville, Va., as middle school associate.

Stephen Durr, to First Baptist Church, Jamestown, N.C., as choir director.

Abby Pratt, to Central Baptist Church, Richmond, Va., as associate pastor.

Susan Hayes, to Elk Creek Baptist Church, Mineral, Va., as director of music.

Regina Skammer, to Cool Spring Baptist Church, Mechanicsville, Va., as children’s ministry associate.

Kevin Cloran, to HopeTree Family Services, Salem, Va., as education supervisor of the agency’s on-campus school, HopeTree Academy. He served as the director of New Hope Academy in Bedford, Va., before joining HopeTree Academy as a teacher in August 2013.

Marie Onwubuariri, to American Baptist Churches of Wisconsin, as executive minister, effective this summer. She currently serves as director of admissions at the American Baptist Seminary of the West in Berkeley, Calif. She is immediate past president of the Alliance of Asian American Baptist Churches.

Dwayne and Janet Doyle, appointed by American Baptist International Ministries to serve as associate development workers in central Asia. They currently are serving in central Asia through Interserve USA.

RETIRED

Jerry Jones, as team leader of the Virginia Baptist Mission Board’s glocal missions team, effective April 30, following 12 years there and nearly 40 years in the ministry.

Mike Morris, as minister of administration and community ministries at First Baptist Church, Raleigh, N.C., following 26 years of ministry there.

ORDINATIONS

Paul Lewis, ordained to ministry by First Baptist Church, Tulsa, Okla., on March 30. He serves as Baptist campus minister director at Tulsa (Okla.) Community College, Northeast and Southeast.

Craig Stevens, ordained to ministry on March 30 by First Baptist Church, Inman, S.C.

Megan Turner, ordained to ministry on March 9 by Johns Creek Baptist Church, Alpharetta, Ga.

DEATHS

Charles R. Hurst, 80, died March 31 in Tyler, Texas. A physician and active member of First Baptist Church in Tyler, he was a Cooperative Baptist Fellowship volunteer and missions advocate for more than 20 years. He traveled around the world, providing medical care to those in need in partnership with CBF personnel. He is survived by his wife, Betty.

Harold Timothy Paul, 49, died March 27. He was president and former general secretary of the Baptist Association of South Africa, member of the Baptist World Alliance General Council, the Congress Committee and the Local Arrangements Committee for the 21st Baptist World Congress. He is survived by two children, Theophilus and Cliantha.

ANNIVERSARIES

Cindy Marshall, 10 years, as youth minister at Hardy Central Baptist Church, Richmond, Va.

Jonathan Hilliard, 5 years, as pastor of First Baptist Church, Gretna, Va.
