RICHMOND, Va. — Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond named a new vice president of advancement and a director of community life in early August.
Timothy Heilman assumed the vice president’s position on Aug. 1, becoming the seminary chief development officer.
“Tim brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our advancement efforts,” said seminary president Ron Crawford. “He is well known in the Central Virginia philanthropic community and will help us open an exciting new chapter in the seminary’s life. With Tim’s guidance and the faithful support of donors we face an increasingly bright future.”
Heilman is a graduate of the University of Richmond and earned a certificate from UR’s Institute for Institutional Advancement. He had been serving as vice president for institutional advancement at St. Paul’s College in Lawrenceville, Va.
He is the son of E. Bruce Heilman, chancellor and former president of the University of Richmond.
Nancy Rock Poti became part-time director of community life on Aug. 8. A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, she holds both master of divinity and doctor of ministry degrees from BTSR.
She will continue to serve as pastor of Trinity Church, Baptist, in Richmond, where she has been since 2005.
