Virginia Baptists were hard at work behind the scenes at the 20th Baptist World Congress, enriching the experience of more than 4,000 global Baptists.
HONOLULU — The approximately 150 Virginia Baptists in Honolulu for the Baptist World Congress fellowshipped at a reception — and wished Virginia Baptist executive director John Upton a happy birthday.
Upton’s election as president of the Baptist World Alliance coincided with his birthday.
Paige Peake, Virginia Baptists’ communications officer, organized the reception, which gave Virginians a central meeting spot to catch up with friends.
