Virginia Baptists were hard at work behind the scenes at the 20th Baptist World Congress, enriching the experience of more than 4,000 global Baptists.
HONOLULU — Virginia Baptists were key players in developing the music featured in the twice-a-day worship sessions at the Baptist World Congress.
Coordinating the sessions were Jerry Jones, team leader for the glocal missions and evangelism team of the Virginia Baptist Mission Board; Tom Ingram, the Mission Board’s coordinator for worship and church music ministries; David Bailey, a Richmond musician; and Logan Jones, worship leader at Northminister Baptist Church in Richmond and son of Jerry Jones.
“We tried to imagine the demographics of who would be at the Congress,” said Ingram. “And then we selected a balance of hymns, new songs, things what would be familiar to participants.”
