RICHMOND, Va. — The Richmond Baptist Association has chosen one of its own pastors to serve as its next director of missions.
J. Michael Robinson, who has been pastor of New Covenant Baptist Church in Henrico County since 1995, was elected Sept. 9 by the association at a called meeting.
Robinson is a long-time minister in Richmond churches. Before assuming the pastorate at New Covenant, he was minister of education and outreach at Tabernacle Baptist Church, minister of youth education and outreach at Leigh Street Baptist Church and minister of youth at Oakwood Memorial Baptist Church.
He also served in the U.S. Air Force for four years.
The Warrenton, Va., native is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University and Union Theological Seminary, both in Richmond.
He and his wife, Peggy, have two grown children and one grandchild.
