From the Eastern Shore to Cumberland Gap

STAFF CHANGES

• Kevin Kelly, now serving as pastor of River Shore Church, Portsmouth.

• Randal Walton, to Amherst Church, Amherst, as interim pastor.

• Jimmie Miles, to Mount Vernon Church, Glen Allen, as consultant for discipleship and education.

• Charles Gibson has completed the intentional interim ministry process at Oak Grove Church, Colonial Beach.

ORDINATIONS

• Elizabeth Melton Bartley will be ordained to the gospel ministry by Scottsville Church, Scottsville, on March 14 at 3 p.m.

• Artie Bernard Curtis was ordained to the gospel ministry by Bethel Church, Fredericksburg, on Jan. 17.

REVIVALS

• Falling River Church, Brookneal; March 7-10; Roger Roller, evangelist.

• High Point Church, Stuart; March 14-17; Paul Hesman, church planter in South Africa, guest speaker.

• Ringgold Church, Ringgold; March 12-13; Michael Pardue, evangelist.

• Macedonia Church, Foster; March 21-24; Roger Roller, evangelist.

ASSOCIATIONAL NEWS

• Franklin County Association will hold its spring inspirational meeting on March 15 at 7 p.m. at Furnace Creek Church in Rocky Mount. Frank Page, former president of the SBC and vice president of evangelism for the NAMB, will be guest speaker.

OTHER

• The Virginia Baptist Women’s Chorale will be in concert Sat., March 20, at Ephesus Church, South Hill, at 6 p.m. The program includes traditional and contemporary styles of music. The Chorale is composed of ladies from across the state who have music leadership roles in their churches. All are welcome to join us in worship.

• Enon Church, Roanoke, will observe its 155th year with a Founders Day Celebration on March 14. Former pastor Dan Stevens will preach at the 11 a.m. service and music will be provided by Henry Boitnott and Friends. A pot-luck dinner will follow.

• Attention former Ridgecrest Staffers: Plan now to attend the Ridgecrest Staff Reunion on Aug. 12-14, 2010. Reservations: 1-800-588-7222. Contact person: Neil Nation, 615-395-7664.

• Webber Memorial Church, Richmond, will sponsor six quilting classes starting March 10 at 6:30 p.m., led by Melody Wilson, a well-known local quilter. For information, call 804.271.4018.
