ORDINATION
• Thomas E. Ligon was ordained to the gospel ministry on March 14 by Burrows Memorial Church, Norfolk. He will be serving on staff as minister of education.
DEATH
• Judy S. Hetherington, wife of Bob Hetherington, director of missions for Roanoke Valley Association, died March 22 at the age of 62. She was active in the association, coordinating the association’s missions ministry to Powell River Association and the Standing Rock Indian Reservation. She was an instructor for the John Leland Center for Theological Studies and had served as a past director of the Woman’s Missionary Union of Virginia. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children, Greg and Kim Hetherington; two grandchildren; parents, Julius and Ruby Shoulars; and two sisters. A memorial service was held March 25 at Oakland Church, Roanoke.

• Woodland Heights Church, Richmond, will celebrate its 100th anniversary on April 18 at 10:30 a.m.
OTHER
• Virginia Baptist Women’s Chorale will be in concert Sat., April 24 at 6 p.m. at Lyndale Church, Richmond. The program includes traditional and contemporary styles of music. The Chorale is composed of ladies from across the state who have music leadership roles in their churches.
• The Virginia Baptist Male Chorale will be in concert at Huguenot Road Church, Richmond, on April 20 at 7 p.m.
