Virginia Baptists' disaster relief ministries is sponsoring a trip to Florida Feb. 7-11.
Participants will organize into work teams and help rebuild houses damaged in hurricanes last fall. The Virginia Baptist Mission Board is encouraging Virginia Baptist Men organizations to recruit between 50 and 100 men and women to participate.
Details of the disaster relief mission trip:
• Dates: Arrive in Florida on Feb. 6 and depart Feb. 12. Work days will be Feb. 7-11.
• Location: The Punta Gorda or Southwest area of Florida.
• Work: Rebuilding; roofing, carpentry, reconstruction from hurricane damage.
• Lodging: Local churches.
• Meals: Local churches will provide while in Florida.
• Evenings: Worship and informal gatherings of the large group will take place.
• Volunteer costs: Travel and meals to Florida and return. Lodging and meals while on the field will be free.
• Tools: Volunteers may bring personal tools, association tool trailers.
