Virginia Baptists plan to send two children's ministry teams to India in June as a part of the India tsunami response project.
Indian Baptists have asked for a team to distribute uniforms and school supplies purchased by Virginia Baptists through the “Back-to-School-Buddies” project, which will outfit 2,000 children who otherwise will not be permitted to return to school June 1. One team will distribute the school materials, meet with children and their parents and offer a week of after-school activities for children. A second team will follow up on the work of the first team by coordinating additional after-school activities and other ministry opportunities suggested by Indian Baptists.
Tentative dates are May 27/28-June 10/11 and June 10/11-June 24/25. Cost will be around $2,000-$2,200.
