Staff Changes

Randy Bartley, to Hills Grove Church, Claudville, as pastor.

Don McKinney, to Hume Church, Hume, as pastor.

Joe Glass, resigning as pastor of Hampton Roads Church, Hampton, to relocate to Kentucky.

Parke Deans, to Abingdon Church, Abingdon, as minister of music and worship.

Michael Faulkner, to Riverview Church, Woodbridge, as interim pastor.

Elmon Thompson, to Reed Island Springs Church, Ararat, as interim pastor.

Clarence Marshall, to Stone Mountain Church, Laurel Fork, as interim pastor.

Brad Corboy, to Hume Church, Hume, as youth director.

Ordinations

Danny R. Blalock was ordained to the gospel ministry on July 24 by Faith Church in Hampton. At the ordination service Jim Ailor, director of missions for Peninsula Association, and Jim Anderson, pastor of Faith Church, offered the charge to the candidate and church.


Michael Shockley, pastor of Meadows of Dan Church, Meadows of Dan, was recently ordained to the gospel ministry by the church.

Church News

The Agapé Café of Bon Air Church, Richmond, will host The Taters, Richmond's own stars of Americana, on Aug. 5 at 7:30 p.m. For more information, check the church's website at www.bonairbaptist.org.

Corrottoman Church, Lancaster, will hold revival services Aug. 7-10 with Lee Farmer as guest evangelist.

Derbyshire Church, Richmond, will present its ninth annual “Good Ol' Gospel Sing” on Aug. 7 at 6:00 p.m. Featured in a concert of timeless gospel favorites will be selections by various trios, quartets, the Chancel Choir and a special appearance by Dominion. The evening will conclude with an old-fashioned watermelon cutting.

First Church, Hillsville, will celebrate homecoming July 31 with former pastor Richard Wynn as guest speaker. Worship will be at 9:30 a.m. with Sunday school at 11:00, followed with dinner on the grounds.

Indian View Church, King William, will celebrate homecoming on Aug. 7 with Pastor Dean Collings bringing the message. Revival will be held Aug. 8-10 at 7:30 p.m. with James Townsend, Ray Jackson and Ken McKela as guest evangelists. Special music will be provided each night.

Lael Church, Stevensburg, will celebrate its 131st homecoming on Aug. 7. Guest speaker will be Tim Boschen.

Rhoadesville Church, Rhoadesville, will celebrate its 117th anniversary with homecoming on Aug. 14. Worship will be at 11:00 a.m. followed by dinner on the grounds. Revival services will be held Aug. 15-17 with Cecil Sherman as guest evangelist.

Bon Air Church, Richmond, is coordinating a bus trip to the Billy Graham Training Center at The Cove in Asheville, N.C. on May 1-3, 2006. Cliff Barrows will be guest speaker. For additional information contact John Harris at 804-272-9549 or email [email protected].
