Adam Woods, resigning as pastor of Critz Church, Critz.

Church News

Carlisle Avenue Church, Richmond, will host a Praise Sing on Sept. 25 at 4:00 p.m.

Dave Edwards will be keynote speaker at a Singles Conference, “The God of Yes, Living a Life that Works” on Sept. 10 at First Church, Richmond. Dinner is at 6:30 p.m. Edwards will also speak at both worship services on Sept. 11. To purchase a conference ticket, call 804-358-5458.

Skipwith Church, Richmond, celebrated the 40th anniversary of Pauline Taylor as a member of its church staff on Aug. 14. She began as church organist in 1965 and in 1977 she became church secretary. A luncheon in her honor was held and she was presented with flowers and a gift.

Monument Heights Church, Richmond, will hold a Family Fun Fest on Saturday, Sept. 17, at the church located at Monument and Libbie avenues in Richmond. At 3 p.m. there will be an
X-Treme Sports event featuring various games. At 5 p.m. there will be a picnic, followed by an outdoor concert featuring the band “Offering.” On Sunday, Sept. 18, at 6 p.m. the church will offer a parenting seminar. The theme is “Say Goodbye to Whining, Complaining and Bad Attitudes in You and Your Kids.”

Weatherford Memorial Church, Richmond, will celebrate homecoming on Sept. 11 at 10:30 a.m. The theme is “Celebrating our Heritage, Bestowing a Living Legacy.” Former pastor Tom Martin will be guest speaker. On Sept. 25 in the 10:30 a.m. service, Weatherford will turn over the keys to its building to St. Paul's Church, Richmond. Rick Hurst, pastor of Weatherford, and Lance Watson, pastor of St. Paul's, will both speak during the service.
