Dennis L. Stamey, resigning as pastor of Patterson Avenue Church, Richmond, to become a hospice care chaplain.

James Stophel, to Henry Church, Henry, as interim pastor.

Francis Martin, to Trinity Church, Martinsville, as interim pastor.

Keith Reynolds, to New Vision Church, Martinsville, as interim pastor.

Robert “Bob” Smith Jr., to Heritage Church, Farmville, as interim pastor.

David Wheatley, to Culpeper Church, Culpeper, as minister of youth.

Wayne Stoebel, resigning as organist at Burrows Memorial Church, Norfolk, after 17 years of service due to health reasons.

Lia Scholl, resigning as minister of congregational development at Ravensworth Church, Annandale.

Ordination

S. Karen Workman was ordained to the gospel ministry by Ridge Church, Richmond, on Oct. 9.

Associational News

Fred Luter Jr. will be the featured speaker at the annual celebration of Portsmouth Association on Tues., Oct. 25 at 6:45 p.m. at Port Norfolk Church, Portsmouth. He is pastor of Franklin Avenue Church in New Orleans which was recently devastated by Hurricane Katrina and formerly served as second vice president of the SBC.

Chris Monroe has not recently been called to serve as associate pastor of worship at Vinton Church, Vinton. He has been on staff for almost 12 years.
