Clara Jean Taylor, retiring as music minister at North Run Church, Richmond, effective Dec. 31.

Ordination

Brandon Ives was ordained to the gospel ministry on Dec. 11 by Skipwith Church, Richmond.

Death

Former Virginia Baptist pastor and pastor emeritus of Dover Church, Manakin Sabot, William R. Hollis, died in Richmond on Dec. 13 at the age of 75. He is survived by his wife, Jackie Hollis; four children, Lawrence T. Hollis, Sheryl A. Saboff, Kim L. Gibson and William K. Hollis; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Harold Hollis; and a sister, Wilma Booth. A memorial service was held Dec. 16 at Bon Air Church, Richmond.

Church News

North Bedford Church, Forest, hosted a reception on Dec. 4 for its pastor, Charles Stinson, in honor of his retirement as pastor following 35 years of ministry.

Yorktown Church, Yorktown, will have a live nativity Dec. 22-24 beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Association News

Rod Hale is now serving as part-time interim director of missions for Petersburg Association.
