Christian network schedules workshop

NewsReligious Herald  |  December 19, 2005

The Southwest Virginia Christian Leadership Network announces a workshop entitled “The Time of Your Life.” Facilitated by Bob and Judy Hetherington from the Roanoke Valley Baptist Association, laypersons and ministers can learn practical keys for using time wisely in order to minimize stress.

The workshop will be offered at two locations:

• Jan. 10 at North Roanoke Baptist Church (6402 Peters Creek Road, Roanoke), from 2:30-4:30 p.m. or 6:30-8:30 p.m. (repeating sessions)

• Feb. 7 at the Henry County Baptist Association building (3449 Kings Mountain Road, Martinsville), from 2:30-4:30 p.m. or 6:30-8:30 p.m. (repeating sessions)

Cost for the workshop is only $5 for materials and snacks. You may pre-register by calling the Network at (540) 777-3014 or by email at [email protected].

Meanwhile, the Network continues to accept registration for “Bible Backgrounds,” a college degree-credit class exploring the culture, geography and languages of Bible times. Scheduled for Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Jan. 21-Feb. 25, this course is part of the Christian Studies Certificate program offered through Bluefield College.

Class sessions will meet at Blacksburg Baptist Church, 550 North Main St., in Blacksburg. Cost for the class is $510, plus textbooks, for members of Baptist General Association of Virginia churches (regular Bluefield tuition is $1,065 plus textbooks) and BGAV church members may audit the class for $450, plus textbooks.

For further information and to register for the class, contact the Southwest Virginia Christian Leadership Network toll free at (866) 223-9344 or at (540) 777-3014 or [email protected].
