Offering to bear the full expense of the trip and arranging every detail of the 10-day event, the Tourism Board hopes to encourage American Christian tourists to consider Jordan a travel destination.
To the surprise of the editors who had expected the itinerary to include little contact with Baptists in Jordan, the opposite is true. The editors will have opportunities to visit the Jordan Baptist Convention and Arab Woman Today and to tour Amman Baptist School, where they will have lunch with local Baptist leaders. One evening dinner is planned in the home of Dr. Abbassi, president of the Jordan Baptist Convention.
Other events and points of interest include a briefing at the Royal Institute for Inter-Faith Studies, archaeological sites in Jerash, ancient Gadara, Madaba, Petra, Mukawir and Mount Nebo. The group will leave on Sept. 22 and return Oct. 1.
