Staff Changes

Will Dodson, to Goshen Church, Spotsylvania, as pastor.

Floyd Harrison, to Story Creek Church, Ferrum, as pastor.

Bill Helton, to First Church, Jonesville, as pastor.

Jim Woodland, to Grove Park Church, Portsmouth, as interim pastor.

Hope Briley, to Goldmine Church, Louisa, as youth minister.

Richard Castleberry, to Great Bridge Church, Chesapeake, as student minister.

Joyce Williams, to Goshen Church, Spotsylvania, as music director.

Tim Henry, resigning as minister of youth at Rosalind Hills Church, Roanoke, to accept a position at Virginia Baptist Children's Home & Family Services.

Mark Morgan, to Shiloh Church, King George, as minister to students.

Lora Gravatt, to First Church, Woodbridge, as minister to children.

Lydia E. Beasley, to Belmont Church, Charlottesville, as minister of music.

Death

Lily B. Hepler died Oct. 15 in Charlottesville at the age of 81. She is the widow of William Paul Hepler, a former Virginia Baptist minister. Survivors include two sons, Doug and Phil Hepler; a daughter, Ann Hartman; a brother and six grandchildren. Funeral services were held Oct. 18 at Louisa Church, Louisa.

Church News

Blackstone Young Women, a missionary group at Blackstone Church, Blackstone, will host the “Old Time Gospel Singers” on Oct. 29 at 7:00 p.m.

First Church, Galax, will host a gospel concert by “Chapter IV” from Boonsville, N.C., on Nov. 5 at 6 p.m.

Port Norfolk Church, Portsmouth, acknowledged the faithful ministry of Clatta Sawyer at a retirement celebration on Oct. 1. She has served as the church's financial secretary for 35 years. The church honored her with a reception and numerous gifts.

Revivals & Homecomings

Brookneal Church, Brookneal; fall rally day and revival Nov. 5-8; Bill Hartsfield, guest evangelist.

First Church, Coeburn; revival Nov. 5-8; Jared and Bethany Honaker, guest evangelists.

River Shore Church, Portsmouth; homecoming Oct. 29 at 10 a.m.; Jim Ailor, guest speaker; service followed by dinner on the grounds.

Swords Creek Church, Swordscreek; revival Nov. 5-8; Rick Coram, guest evangelist.
