CHURCH NEWS

Monument Heights Church, Richmond, will host The Jeremiah People, a ministry team of the Continental Singers, presenting “The Complete History of the Old Testament” in musical drama on Nov. 12 at 11 a.m. A love offering will be received for the group.

Oakland Church, Gum Spring, will host the gospel music group, The Harvesters, in concert on Nov. 19 at 6:00 p.m.

Berryville Church, Berryville, celebrated its 234th anniversary on Sept. 10, honoring members of 40 or more years. There are 104 of these members with about 30 who attended the service and luncheon afterward. Dorothy Thompson has been a member of Berryville Church since 1925 and is the one with the longest membership. She recalls that she became a member, along with several others, during a revival service. The family lived close enough to the church to walk. She walked to church then, but now 81 years later, she drives every Sunday. She has served her church in many ways, for many years serving as treasurer.

The WMU of Shenandoah Heights Church, Waynesboro, collected over 100 pairs of eyeblasses, which were given to the Lions Club to distribute to persons in need.
