Join with fellow Virginia Baptists at Connect:2006, the annual meeting of the Baptist General Association of Virginia, on Nov. 9-10 at the brand-new Virginia Beach Convention Center. Participants will set sail on a “Voyage to Discovery” as a course is charted for developing emerging leaders of every age within every church.
Special guests include Leith Anderson, senior pastor of Wooddale Church in the Minneapolis suburb of Eden Prairie, Minn.; James Flamming, senior minister of Richmond's oldest congregation, First Baptist Church; and musicians from Crossroads Community Church, Coastal Community Church and Great Bridge Baptist Church.
Registration materials were mailed to each BGAV church eligible for messengers and should have been received by now. If any church hasn't received its packet yet, please contact the Virginia Baptist Mission Board as soon as possible at 800.ALL.BGAV and a replacement packet will be mailed.
Registration begins Sept. 1. Churches may register their messengers online or by mail. Complete instructions for either approach were included in the registration packet. For the 2005 meeting, 89.5 percent of messengers were registered online. All churches are encouraged to register online. The link to online registration will become active on Sept. 1 at the Connect:2006 website, www.bgavconnect.net. Mail-in registrations will be received beginning Sept. 1. Onsite registration will be available but is discouraged for all but last minute changes or additions to a church's messenger delegation.
As in past years, special incentives will be offered for pre-registration. The first 250 registrants will receive a unique polycarbonate insulated water bottle branded with the Kingdom Advance logo. Those who pre-register online will be entered into drawings for three great prizes: a $100 gift certificate to the LifeWay bookstore, a $100 gift certificate to the Smyth & Helwys bookstore, and a year's free entry to VBMB events and conferences (registration/program fees only; lodging and meals not included.)
