After a several-months break, Benjamin Cole and Mark Wingfield are back with a new episode of “Stuck in the Middle with You.” This week’s new episode is one of two recorded in anticipation of the June Southern Baptist Convention annual meeting.
The first, available now on most podcast platforms, includes discussions of the SBC Cooperative Program at 100, the lawsuit against Second Baptist Church in Houston by members who claim the bylaws were changed illegally, Southwestern Seminary’s near-death experience and resurrection, the kerfuffle over Josh Buice and anonymous social media accounts, and SBC membership statistics.
Early next week the second episode will drop that gives a full rundown on what to watch for at this year’s SBC annual meeting in Dallas.
Also this week on BNG’s “Highest Power: Church + State” podcast with Rick Pidcock, attention turns to allegations the new pope is woke, globalist, anti-Trump, anti-MAGA, pro-open borders and a Marxist.
Rick asks: “Is Pope Leo ‘woke’?” by exploring what he has said about immigration, gun control, abortion, LGBTQ, women’s ordination and the Trump administration.
His second episode of the week explores Donald Trump and the GOP’s “big, beautiful bill,” which critics say is the largest wealth transfer from the poor to the rich in U.S. history. Rick talks with Matthew Boedy, a professor at the University of North Georgia and author of The Seven Mountains Mandate.
This conversation shows how prosperity gospel preachers of the Seven Mountain Mandate want to place themselves at the top of the business mountain in society.
