Developing giving lives is the emphasis of the new issue of Heritage Seekers magazine for children and their families.
The historical character in the issue is the early missionary Luther Rice, who led a sacrificial life while helping Baptists to support missions and develop a national identity. Children also will read the story of Virginia Baptists performing volunteer mission work following the devastation of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Also included is an interview with John Ivins Jr., whose father led the stewardship program for Virginia Baptists.
Copies of the new issue were mailed to all churches affiliated with the Baptist General Association of Virginaia. Additional copies may be ordered at reduced rates for bulk orders by calling the Center for Baptist Heritage & Studies at (804) 289-8434. Children's ministers, Sunday school teachers and Vacation Bible School workers are encouraged to order copies for all families with children. For more information visit www. heritageseekers.org.
