MISSIONS MOMENT

A team of 13 members of Laurel Hill Baptist Church in Verona traveled to the Nutshell Baptist Conference Center in Duncans in the Trelawny parrish in Jamaica on June 12-19. The conference center holds camps and activities for children, training events for adult groups and churches all over Jamaica. While there the team painted, put up curtains and window screens, dug ditches, installed electrical wire and cleaned the kitchen at the conference center. Some members taught daily Bible lessons at the primary school and sang songs, played games and visited the local infirmary. Team members passed out fliers in the neighborhood for nightly worship services held at Clarks Town Baptist Church. They helped lead worship services with Laurel Hill's pastor Mike Winters and Russell Waldrop preaching. Services were also led at the William Knibb Baptist Church and the Greenwood Mission. The God sightings on the trip were many. There were many relationships formed and opportunities to minister and show God's love in the moment. Photos here are from the mission trip. Pictured are team members Gloria Miller, Wanda Sutton, Russell and Molly Waldrop, Myron and Barbara Cook, Mike, Terry and Katherine Winters, Robert and Marla Knotts, Dot Woodzell and Terry Glass.
