RICHMOND — Preregistration for Connect:2008, the 185th annual meeting of the Baptist General Association of Virginia, will be closing in mid-October, say association officials.
Connect:2008 will be held in Roanoke Nov. 11-12 at the Roanoke Civic Center and the Hotel Roanoke & Convention Center.
Preregistration forms submitted by mail must be postmarked no later than Oct. 15, and preregistration online at www.bgavconnect.net must be completed by 11:59 p.m. on Oct. 19. Onsite registration will be available, but is discouraged for all but last-minute attendees.
At the meeting, those who have preregistered will only have to check in to receive their messenger packet. Those who have not preregistered are required to register onsite using the onsite registration form that was included in the registration materials that were mailed to all eligible BGAV churches in early September. This form may also be downloaded at www.bgavconnect.net after preregistration closes.
The onsite registration form must be completely filled out and signed by the church's clerk or moderator. Persons wishing to register as messengers who do not have onsite registration forms, or who have incomplete forms, will be sent to the credentials table.
Special incentives are still being offered for preregistration. Everyone who preregisters online will be entered into drawings for five prizes: two $50 gift certificates from Smyth & Helwys, two $50 gift certificates from LifeWay, and a year's free entry to Virginia Baptist Mission Board events and conferences (registration/program fees only; lodging and meals not included).
Persons who are not representing their church as a messenger are invited to attend as a visitor. Visitors may register onsite at the Roanoke Civic Center the day of the event.
