HYMN FESTIVAL
“Joined Together as One Body” was the theme for a Hymn Festival held Sept. 28 at Franklin Baptist Church in Franklin. A massed choir, representing 12 local congregations, formed the Festival Choir and clergy from five parishes provided commentary on the hymns. Dean Kersaw, organist/choirmaster at West End Baptist in Suffolk, served as organist. The organ was augmented by a brass quartet and handbell ringers. The festival was conducted by Steven R. Gibson, minister of music at Franklin Baptist.
