Herald launches new web site. The Religious Herald will unveil in early April an engaging new web site that features video reporting and weblogs by both the editor and associate editor. The target date is Friday, April 3. The site was made possible through the gifts of generous Virginia Baptists and a matching grant of $12,500 by the Virginia Baptist Foundation. Developed in stages over the past year, the site allows articles to be submitted to a common respository which can be shared by any of the four current partners comprising the New Voice Media Group. In addition to the Herald, partners include the Baptist Standard of Texas, Word & Way of Missouri and Associated Baptist Press. The web address is www.religiousherald.org.
Virginia Baptist Homes hosts golf tournament. The Virginia Baptist Homes Foundation is hosting the Lakewood Manor Golf Tournament, to be held Thursday, April 16, at Independence Golf Club in Midlothian. Registration begins at 11 a.m., followed by lunch and a 1 p.m. shotgun start. Proceeds from the tournament benefit the Endowed Fund for Seniorships of Lakewood Manor — a fund that will provide assistance to residents in cases of hardship caused by financial need.
