A Ridgecrest Summer Staff Homecoming is planned for May 29–31 at the camp in North Carolina. All former summer staffers at the longtime Southern Baptist assembly are invited to participate.
Although now run by a foundation, the camp for decades was owned by the Southern Baptist Convention’s Lifeway Christian Resources. It was one of two large assemblies — the other being Glorieta in New Mexico — where thousands of clergy and laypeople flocked every summer for education and inspiration.
These camps were largely staffed with summer workers from across the nation and beyond. Lifetime friendships were formed among the staffers.
Organizers of the reunion want to get the word out because there are no records of former staffers.
The homecoming weekend will include memory-sharing opportunities, Nibble Nook Fellowship, a bonfire, a hike to Catawba Falls and decade-based breakout sessions.
