Terry Morrison,
to Whitehead’s Grove Baptist Church, Smithfield, Va., as full-time pastor.

Jim Johnson, to The Church at Clarendon, Arlington, Va., as senior pastor, effective the end of March.

Robert Auxier, to Walnut Grove Baptist Church, Montvale, Va., as bi-vocational pastor. He has served as co-pastor since March 2012.

Todd Bolin, to Boiling Springs (N.C.) Baptist Church, as interim pastor.

Justin Glenn, to Red Lane Baptist Church, Powhatan, Va., as minister of discipleship and families.

Rebecca Maynard, resigning as associate minister at First Baptist Church, Elkin, N.C. She will focus on offering spiritual direction and retreats for churches as part of a new ministry she is creating.

Claire Born, to Memorial Baptist Church, Hampton, Va., as part-time minister of music.

Dane Jackson, to Second Baptist Church, Richmond, Va., as interim minister of students.

Heather Long, to Webber Memorial Baptist Church, Richmond, Va., as youth minister.



DEATH


James R. Woodland died Feb. 28, 2012, in Portsmouth. During his ministry he served as pastor and interim pastor at Exmore (Va.) Baptist Church, South Anna Baptist Church in Mineral, Va., Open Door Church in Newport News, Va., and Cradock, Grove Park, Pinecrest and Port Norfolk Baptist churches in Portsmouth, Va. He was general manager of two Christian radio stations, WXRI in Portsmouth and WOLC in Princess Anne, Maryland. He is survived by his wife, Patsy Landon Woodland; four sons, Chris, Alex, Mark and Tim Woodland; nine children and four great-grandchildren. A celebration of life service was held March 9 at Port Norfolk Baptist Church, Portsmouth.

Tom Forrest, retiring as part-time minister of music at Memorial Baptist Church, Hampton, Va., after having served there for six years.

Jerry Riggins, retiring as senior pastor of Berea Baptist Church, Louisa, Va., after nine years of ministry there.

GROUNDBREAKING: Huguenot Road Baptist Church, Richmond, Va., broke ground on March 3 for renovation and expansion of its church facility. Participating in the ceremony were two members of the Facilities Development Team and a person representing each 10 year increment of its history.
