Donald J. Campbell, pastor of Poroporone Baptist Church in Shacklefords, has been named director of stewardship development for the Virginia Baptist Mission Board.
Campbell, who will serve in the position on a part-time basis, will continue as pastor of Poroporone Church.
In his new role, Campbell will will meet with Baptist General Association of Virginia churches to discuss the focus and goals of effective stewardship and be available for stewardship conferences in churches and associations throughout the state.
Campbell has been involved for more than 30 years in stewardship development, including service as a trustee of the Southern Baptist Convention's former Stewardship Commission.
“We are indeed fortunate and blessed to have Don Campbell join our staff,” said Eddie Stratton, treasurer of the Mission Board. “His experience in stewardship development is widely acknowledged and we are most grateful for Poroporone's role in this unique arrangement.”
Campbell is a graduate of John Wesley College, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and Columbia Pacific University. He and his wife, Janet, have three grown children.
