In the Sept. 13 ABP story, “American Baptist region withdraws, may trigger split in denomination,” please replace the 6th paragraph with the following:

In a statement Sept. 14, members of the National Executive Council of American Baptist Churches USA said they “deeply regret the action taken by the ABC of the Pacific Southwest, whom we love in Christ….”

“Our denomination has been blessed by the historic commitment by our regions to interdependent dialog and action for mission in the name of Christ,” the statement said. “We grieve when partners in ministry move away from that covenantal relationship.”

In the Sept. 13 ABP story, “Shelter worker helps reunite separated husband, wife,” please replace the next-to-last paragraph with the following:

Instead, Nelson made plans for McKinnley and Geraldine Pittman to be reunited at the home of their daughter in Philadelphia.

On Sept. 6, Nelson put Pittman on a plane to Philadelphia. One day later, Geraldine arrived from Baton Rouge.
