HALEYVILLE, Ala. (ABP) — Brent McDougal has been named coordinator of the Alabama Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. He will assume the role Oct. 15.
McDougal replaces Mart Gray, who resigned last November to work full time as pastor of an Alabama CBF church plant in Elba, Ala. Gray served for eight years in the coordinator's position, working part time the last several years at the church plant.
In his new role, McDougal will work to develop general support for Alabama CBF and act as a resource for pastors and churches across the state. He'll also become a member of the national CBF leadership team.
“I'm excited to be given the chance to serve Alabama CBF and the ministries and the mission of its partners,” McDougal said. “When I think about the potential of Alabama CBF, I think it has a bright future.”
A Montgomery, Ala., native, McDougal is currently pastor of Corinth Heights Baptist Church in Haleyville, Ala. He received a doctorate in political science from the University of Alabama and received a master of divinity from Beeson Divinity School at Samford University in Birmingham, Ala.
