John Shypulefski, retiring as pastor of First Baptist Church, Blossburg, Pa.
DEATHS
Lloyd F. Jackson Jr., 81, died Oct. 20 in Richmond, Va. He had served as pastor of Mt. Ararat Baptist Church in Gaffney, S.C. and Franklinton (N.C.) Baptist Church. In 1968 he joined the staff of the Virginia Baptist Mission Board, where he served until his 1997 retirement. He developed and led two Virginia Baptist Royal Ambassador camps, Camp Piankatank and Camp Peaks of Otter. He was a leader in the creation and expansion of the Virginia Baptist Disaster Relief Ministry. He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara. He is survived by three children, Frank and Tommy Jackson and Susan Cooke; and nine grandchildren.
John Wilkes, 83, died Oct. 2 in Fredericksburg, Va. He was communications director for the Baptist World Alliance from 1986-1988. Prior to that he was pastor of churches in Tennessee, Mississippi and Missouri. He also served as director of news and information for the European Baptist Federation. He is survived by his wife, Jo-Anne; son, John; and daughter, Katia.
