For the past 12 years, Ann Kitchens has served Virginia Baptists on the staff of the Religious Herald. For many, she has been the face of the state paper as she staffed its booth at the Baptist General Association of Virginia annual meetings. Hundreds of others knew her as the voice of the Herald as she answered circulation questions on the phone.
Ann's efficiency and professionalism will be missed as she joins her husband in retirement on May 31. The Religious Herald board of trustees honored her with a plaque and a monetary gift during their semi-annual meeting May 11, and the staff held a reception for her on May 17.
Marty Garber has assumed the circulation manager/administrative assistant position vacated by Ann. Marty brings with her experience as a church secretary (ministry assistant) and involvement in the Baptist Ministry Assistants of Virginia organization, in which she served as an officer last year. Marty joined the Religious Herald staff on May 1, which allowed Ann to provide side-by-side training.
