BOWLING GREEN — The Hermon Baptist Association has partnered with the Dover and Fredericksburg Baptist association, the Virginia Baptist Mission Board and local churches to start a new congregation called Living Proof.
The new church held its first service at Caroline Middle School on Sept. 16 with 170 people in attendance. Scott Roberts is the church planter who has used his skills from starting Evergreen Baptist Church in Fredericksburg to begin this new work. The casual, contemporary, cross-cultural atmosphere targets the growing population of Caroline County.
The Hermon Baptist Association is one of the smallest in the state of Virginia and has limited resources but in partnership with other associations and the VBMB, people are being reached for Christ. “This is truly a work of God,” said Jennifer Dockum, director of missions for the Hermon Baptist Association, “We celebrate what God has done in this united effort to share the gospel.” For more information, go to www.livingproofladysmith.org.
