Virginia Baptist youth are invited to enter a new essay contest sponsored by the Center for Baptist Heritage & Studies.
The first “Roots & Wings: Young Scholars Essay Contest” carries a missions theme as 11th and 12th grade students learn about Baptist missions history and write creatively on missions delivery in the future.
The winners will receive cash awards and the winning entries will be published. The contest has been made possible through a gift from an anonymous donor.
Youth missions leaders, Sunday school teachers and pastors are urged to promote the contest in their churches. The deadline for entries is Feb. 1. For contest rules and information, see www.essay.baptistheritage.org.
