The School of Christian Ministry at Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond will host their first pastoral leadership seminar April 26-27 on the campus in Richmond.
The pastoral leadership seminar will address aspects of congregational life that affect the leadership functions a pastor is called to provide in a congregation. Planned topics include congregational size, congregational lifespan stage, spirituality style, congregational identity, understanding the congregation as a system and leadership functions. Israel Galindo, professor of Christian education at BTSR, is the seminar facilitator.
The seminar begins at 9 a.m. on Thursday, April 26, and ends at 3 p.m. on Friday, April 27.

Galindo also serves as executive director of Educational Consultants and serves on the faculty of the Leadership in Ministry Workshops. An educator and author, Galindo is a popular seminar and workshop leader in the areas of education and instruction and in Bowen systems theory as applied to parenting, congregational life and leadership development. He has presented for a widely-diverse audience, from national denominational groups to local judicatories, public and private school systems, corporations and businesses. He is the author of numerous articles in magazines and journals, and of several books, including The Hidden Lives of Congregations, which was named one of the “10 Best Books of 2005” by the Academy of Parish Clergy.
