Five breakout sessions at this year's annual meeting of the Baptist General Association of Virginia will focus on the Ray and Ann Spence Network for Congregational Leadership, RASNet's director Bob Dale told Paige Peak, communications officer for the Virginia Baptist Mission Board.
The first and third “sailings,” or sessions (the BGAV theme is “Voyage to Discover”), will feature five learning communities that focus on the wisdom of some of Virginia Baptists' best churches and most experienced ministers in atmospheres of mutual discovery.
The second sailing will be a time of informal discussion.
“Stable Ships with Healthy Crews” will help people guard personal wellness and deal with stress.
“Perfect Storm” will explore how churches can involve all generations productively and happily.
“Sailing off the Edge of a Flat Earth” will demonstrate how Virginia can reach an increasingly diverse Commonwealth.
“What Turns the Ship” will guide churches who are looking inside their own memberships for potential staffers.
“How to Swim in a School” will challenge ministers to stay in a ministry long enough to leaven the setting.
Dale also noted that registration packets will contain a gift from RASNet—discount coupon for coffee at the on-site Starbucks.
