Five main sessions of the upcoming June 20-23 Cooperative Baptist Fellowship General Assembly in Fort Worth, Texas, will be broadcast live online. Sessions can be viewed live or accessed later from archives at www.thefellowship.info/fortworth.
The first webcast features the report and recommendations of the CBF 2012 Task Force, a blue-ribbon panel named two years ago to chart the future course of the moderate Baptist group entering its third decade. Led by Alabama pastor David Hull, the task force is recommending numerous changes regarding governance, budgeting and membership. The webcast begins at 9:15 a.m., CDT, Thursday, June 21.
Business sessions Thursday afternoon and Friday morning will be webcast, along with a global missions commissioning service Thursday night. The final broadcast, starting at 7:15 p.m., Friday June 22, will feature Daniel Vestal’s final sermon as CBF executive coordinator. Vestal, 67, who has led the Fellowship since 1996, retires June 30.
Registration for the gathering at the Fort Worth Convention Center and the Omni Hotel in downtown Fort Worth begins at noon, Wednesday, June 21. About 1,500 are expected to attend.
The General Assembly program guidebook is available online, as well as the 2012 Task Force report.
