Death
Retired Virginia Baptist pastor Charles Herbert Morris died March 27 in Richmond at the age of 83. He and his wife, Erica Hofmann Morris, were missionaries with the International Mission Board for 30 years in Malaysa, Singapore and the Philippines. Following retirement, Morris was minister for pastoral care at Huguenot Road Church, Richmond, for 16 years. He served as volunteer chaplain at Lakewood Manor Retirement Center. He is survived by his wife; one son, Eric E. Morris; two grandsons; and a sister. He was predeceased by a son Charles H. Morris Jr. A memorial service was held March 29 at Huguenot Road Church, Richmond.
Ordination
Corey Fields was ordained to the gospel ministry on March 26 by Harrisonburg Church, Harrisonburg.
Gerald Griffin, a student at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, was ordained to the gospel ministry by Sunbeam Church, Franklin, on Jan. 15.
Lisa Cathryn Wolfe, associate pastor for family ministries at Main Street Church, Emporia, was ordained to the gospel ministry by the church on March 18.

Cedar Bluff Church, Buchanan, will hold homecoming Sunday, April 9, and revival services April 6-9 with Charles G. Fuller as guest evangelist.
Round Knob Church, Fancy Gap, will hold revival services April 25-28 with Mike Soop as guest evangelist.
Wilroy Church, Suffolk, will hold revival services April 9-12 with Roger Roller as guest evangelist.
Missions
Richard Lee and Jill Dorann Thompson of Abingdon were among 45 people appointed as missionaries by the Southern Baptist Convention's International Mission Board March 22. Richard, a former minister of music at Fairmount Memorial Church in Richmond, will serve as a strategy coordinator in South America.

Frank Crumpler has retired from the pastorate of Rainbow Park Church in Decatur, Ga., after 50 years as an ordained Southern Baptist minister. He had served as pastor of New Bridge Church, Highland Springs, and was evangelism director for the Virginia Baptist Mission Board from 1973-1976.
