Church News

Azalea Church, Norfolk, will hold Lenten services on March 22 at 10:00 a.m. with Philip Oehler as speaker.

Black Creek Church, Mechanicsville, is sponsoring two confidential classes for women who have experienced an abortion. One will be held at a Midlothian location on Tuesday mornings beginning March 14. The second will be held at a Mechanicsville location on Thursday evenings beginning March 16. Both last 8 weeks. Franklin Church, Franklin, will host the Chowan Singers from Chowan College in concert on Tuesday, March 14 at 7:30 p.m. For details contact Steven R. Gibson at 757-562-5135.

The Virginia Baptist Women's Chorale will present a concert at Rosalind Hills Church in Roanoke on Saturday, March 18 at 6:00 p.m. For their 30th concert season they have chosen favorite selections from the last three decades. The concert is open to the public. Call the church at 540-344-7888 for more details.

Sylvania Heights Church, Fredericksburg, will hold revival services March 19-22 with Roger Roller as guest evangelist.

Missions

Two Virginia couples were recently appointed as missionaries by the North American Mission Board. Frederick “Rick” and Betty Crookshank are serving in King George where he has been named church planting missionary pastor. Previous to this he was pastor of Hanover Church in King George. Elton “Van” and Jill Welton are serving in Leesburg where he has been appointed as a church planting missionary pastor. Previously he had served as senior pastor of Crossroads Church in Leesburg.
