The board of trustees of the Virginia Baptist Foundation has approved up to a $50,000 in a matching scholarship endowment grant to Oak Hill Academy. These scholarship endowment funds will remain under the perpetual management care of the Foundation.
Announcing the grant, Ronald C. Hall, president of the Foundation, stated, “It has been said that money is never so honored as when it is being used to educate the young. We make this grant from resources entrusted to the care and discretion of the board of trustees in memory of those Virginia Baptists who gave so much to advance our Redeemer's Kingdom.”
Michael D. Groves, president of Oak Hill Academy said, “It is my pleasure to partner with a sister Virginia Baptist agency in our ongoing mission to serve our students. The Foundation's generous grant enables Oak Hill Academy to change the lives of young men and women. What a wonderful gift!”
Established in 1878 in Southwest Virginia, Oak Hill Academy is a non-military Virginia Baptist-affiliated institution that provides a college preparatory education for approximately 150 boys and girls grades eight through 12. Over 95 percent of the 2006 graduating class has been accepted to a four-year college or university.
