STAFF CHANGES

• Bill Gohmert, to Red Lane Church, Powhatan, as pastor.

• Jeffrey Wright, resigning as pastor of Moffett Memorial Church, Danville.

SUMMER CAMP: A group of youth from Calvary Baptist Church, Lovingston, attended the Master’s Inn summer camp program last July. Each day of camp was filled with recreation and games as well as worship experiences and Bible study. The youth say they grew closer to each other and to God during their week at summer camp.

• Bob Jordan, resigning as pastor of Indian River Church, Chesapeake, to accept the pastorate of Zion’s Tabernacle Church, Lumberton, N.C.

• Roselle Carr, to Calvary Church, Virginia Beach, as minister of music.

• Mike Clements, to Manassas Church, Manassas, as pastor for families.

• Heidi Barnett, to Azalea Church, Norfolk, as interim minister of music.

• Kim Chafee, resigning as music minister at Central Church, Norfolk, to pursue chaplain ministry.

• Anne Marie Wood, to Downtown Church, Alexandria, as children’s associate.

ORDINATIONS

• Erin Rourke Collier was ordained to the gospel ministry by Central Church, Richmond, on Oct. 3. She serves as children’s ministry specialist at the church.

• Katherine Ramsey was ordained to the gospel ministry by Powhatan Community Church, Powhatan, on Oct. 24.

HOMECOMINGS & REVIVALS

• Ash Camp Church, Keysville; homecoming Oct. 24; Ron Hall, president of the Virginia Baptist Foundation, guest speaker; covered-dish lunch followed the service.

• Bethany Church, Callao; homecoming Nov. 7; former pastor Curtis Hawks, guest speaker; dinner on the grounds; musical after 11 a.m. service.

• Bethel Church, Lebanon; revival Nov. 7-10; Sherrell Dunn, evangelist.

• Carlisle Avenue Church, Richmond; harvest home day, Nov. 14.

• Pioneer Church, revival Nov. 14-17; Roger Roller, evangelist.

• Smithfield Church, Smithfield; 180th anniversary; homecoming Oct. 31; lunch following the service.

• Westover Church, Richmond; homecoming Nov. 10; former pastor Stephen Richerson, guest speaker; homecoming luncheon after worship.

DEATH

• Retired Virginia Baptist pastor John Chauncey Gindlesperger died in Leesburg on Sept. 11 at the age of 82. He served as pastor of East End Church, Bluefield, W. Va., and Mount Hope Church, Ashburn, for 31 years until his retirement in 1992. He was survived by two sisters, Laura Moors and Vera Stutzman and nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held Oct. 16 at Leesburg Community Church, Leesburg.
