Stacy K. Blackmon, a 10-year veteran communicator, strategist and ministry leader, has been selected as the third executive director of Global Women, an ecumenical women’s missions organization with moderate Baptist ties.
Blackmon, who most recently worked as national director and organizational strategy project director for World Vision, begins work Sept. 15. She succeeds Cindy Dawson, a former Cooperative Baptist Fellowship missionary who stepped down after eight years in 2014.
Global Women was founded in December 2001 as a way for Christian women to network and mentor younger women through “shared learning and service.” Many of the early leaders were formerly associated with Woman’s Missionary Union, auxiliary to the Southern Baptist Convention. The founding executive director, Suzanah Raffield, resigned in 2005.
Blackmon holds a master of divinity degree and a B.A. in communications and is currently working on a master of public administration degree.
