RICHMOND — The staff and residents of Lakewood Manor congratulate Cartie Winchester of Godwin High School and Sharain Edmonds of Cumberland High School as the recipients of the 2008 Lakewood Manor Employee Scholarships.
Each year, Lakewood Manor , a Virginia Baptist retirement center, will award two scholarships to current staff members or their children who are good students and have extracurricular accomplishments in their school, church and/or community. Lakewood is pleased to have the opportunity to provide the scholarships to help fulfill college aspirations and educational goals.
“We value the dedication of our staff and each employee's personal commitment to caring for the well-being of our residents,” said Holly Raidabaugh, director of marketing for Lakewood. “Our ability to deliver Lakewood's mission is directly linked to the talents, expertise, and dedication of our employees. We also see the same dedication reflected in their own children as they share a similar commitment to their education.”
Since graduation in late May, Sharain has already begun classes at the University of Phoenix. Cartie who will graduate in early June has been accepted at High Point University in High Point, N.C., where she plans to study interior design.
