Bluefield College and the Southwest Virginia Christian Leadership Network are working together to create off-campus continuing education opportunities for ministers and laypersons.
Studies offered would be in areas such as Old and New Testament history and interpretation, church history, Christian theology, world religions, Christian ethics and practical church leadership.
Academic credit could be applied, if the student chooses, toward a ministry certificate or toward further degree study at Bluefield College. Some scholarship money will be available and persons will study at their own pace. The intent is to offer classes at a variety of times and locations convenient for students.
Two informational meetings, both from 7-9 p.m., are planned to acquaint interested persons with this unique study opportunity, one on Sept. 15 at the Lebanon Baptist Association building in Glade Spring and the second on Sept. 20 at Bonsack Baptist Church in Roanoke.
