DULUTH, Ga. (ABP) — A longtime employee of the Georgia Baptist Convention died in a car accident April 1 in Atlanta.
Communications specialist Diane Reasoner, 57, had worked with the Georgia convention for 20 years. She and her husband, Richard, were in a three-car accident on Interstate 985 that killed two people and injured five more. Richard Reasoner, 60, was listed in fair condition April 2 at Gwinnett Medical Center. He is the clinical director of Christian Counseling and Psychological Service, Inc., in Suwanee, Ga.
Police said the accident happened when two southbound vehicles on the interstate collided during a lane change and then crossed the median into oncoming traffic. A continued investigation into the crash is underway.
Diane Reasoner oversaw the work of the Georgia Religion News radio program and developed the state convention's public relations and print materials. She also served on the board of directors for the Religious Communicators National Association from 1993 to 2003 and served as president of Baptist Communicators Association in 2001.
The Reasoners are members of First Baptist Church of Duluth, Ga. Diane Reasoner is survived by her husband, two sons and three grandsons.
