SAN ANTONIO (ABP) — A second-generation Baptist theologian who taught during three decades at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary died March 26 in Texas.
David Mueller was 80. He moved to Kerrville, Texas, after retiring from the seminary in Louisville, Ky., in 1995. His father, William Mueller, who died in 2001, also taught theology at Southern Seminary and wrote the seminary's centennial history in 1959.

Among his many students, Mueller was dissertation adviser for the seminary's current president, Albert Mohler, who received his Ph.D. from Southern Seminary in theology in 1989.
Funeral services are scheduled March 31 at First Presbyterian Church in Kerrville, Texas. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Eddie and Velma Dwyer Scholarship Fund at Baylor University, Habitat for Humanity, or the Building Fund at First Presbyterian Church in Kerrville.
