FARMVILLE — The Baptist Collegiate Ministries (formerly the Baptist Student Union) at Longwood University is forming an alumni association. Its first reunion will be held Saturday, April 19, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Heritage Baptist Church, 700 Milnwood Rd. in Farmville.
At the meeting a vote will be taken to officially organize as an association. Anyone who contributes financially to this association in 2008 will become a charter member.
One goal of the alumni association is to support and encourage the ministry of the BCM so there will always be an active Baptist ministry at Longwood. A significant donation has been received from the estate of Mary Ellen Petty Chapman, who will be honored at the reunion. There will be presentations by the current Longwood BCM drama and praise teams.
Registration and lunch are $10 per person. Check should be made payable to Longwood BCM and mailed to Longwood Alumni Reunion, 303 Griffin Blvd., Farmville, VA 23901. Enclose the names of those attending and lunch preferences (either ham, turkey or vegetarian).
Registration deadline is March 19.
