RICHMOND — Online registration holds many benefits for meeting planners and attendees — it's easy and efficient for both parties and it has the ability to gather information that benefits both. So it is with this year's registration for 21-C that some important survey information is requested to provide a more individualized experience for attendees.
“In this year's registration process, we are asking participants to take a 10-minute APEPT survey that will, in turn, provide a personalized ministry profile for them,” says Wayne Faison, team leader of the Virginia Baptist Mission Board's courageous churches team. Participants will receive their profile when they check in at 21-C.
The APEPT profile is based upon Ephesians 4:11-12, “And he gave some as Apostles, and some as Prophets, and some as Evangelists, and some as Pastors, and Teachers [APEPT], for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ.”
“The APEPT profile will identify the participant in one of the five ministry roles: apostolic, prophetic, evangelistic, pastoral and teacher. During 21-C, like-minded, ministry-focused individuals will move through the various dialogue sessions together,” according to Faison. “This also gives us an insight as to how we, as the Baptist General Association of Virginia, approach ministries and missions.”
In identifying a person's spiritual gift base, the APEPT profile more clearly defines how each person can be part of Kingdom Vision and Kingdom Courage tracks to reach the lost in Virginia through 670. 670 is Virginia Baptists' five-year evangelism strategy to reach 600,000 people who don't have a relationship with Jesus Christ.
“Our theme of ‘Causing Heaven to Celebrate' is based upon Jesus' statement in Luke 15:7 that ‘there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who need no repentance,' ” says Faison. “We are excited about how we can more clearly identify spiritual gifts and use them to reach the lost — and in turn, cause heaven to celebrate.”
Along with a different registration process, 21-C also has a different date of Feb. 15-16, and a different location at First Baptist Church in Woodbridge.
