A Richmond marketing and communications professional has been named assistant executive of communications for the Virginia Baptist Mission Board.
Paige Peak, a member of Gayton Baptist Church in Richmond, has been marketing director at Short Pump Town Center in the Richmond suburbs for two years. She assumes her new position in mid-February.
Peak is the first to fill the Mission Board's communication post, which was created late last year.
“This is a new position in our organization that comes as a result of our commitment to more effectively communicate the Virginia Baptist faith and message to the public, as well as to our own church families,” said John Upton, the Mission Board's executive director. “We believe that Ms. Peak's communication and marketing skills will be an asset to our organization.”
Peak's professional career has included communications and marketing work in government and non-profits organizations and in the broadcast, healthcare and retail industries.
In her new position, she will coordinate all the board's communications functions and supervise its communications staff.
Peak's huband, James, is associate dean at Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond and also serves as minister of music at Gayton Baptist Church. They have one son, Chase, a music student at Virginia Commonwealth University.
“I am honored and humbled to be chosen to work in this organization and believe that I have been prepared and called to accept this new challenge,” said Peak. “I am excited about the new vision that this organization has embraced and am eager to be a part of this dedicated team of individuals.”
