BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.—Old Testament scholar Walter Brueggemann will be the featured speaker at Gardner-Webb University’s Pastors’ School, set for May 28-30 on the Boiling Springs, N.C., campus.
Brueggemann and Jim McConnell, professor of New Testament at the school, will develop the theme, “Out of Babylon: The People of God and Empire from both the Old and New Testament Perspectives.” Also included will be a presentation on Christianity and Islam by Donald Berry, professor of world religions at GWU, and devotionals each morning by Tracy Jessup, vice president for Christian life and senior minister to the university.
