I wonder if anyone else found it disturbing that there were two brief articles, one above the other, on page 7 of the Nov. 20 Religious Herald — one announcing that in our nation's capital ads will appear on buses declaring, “Why believe in a god?” and in the next one, a report that the state of South Carolina is being sued for issuing a license plate stating simply, “I believe.”
The license plate does not mention the name of Jesus or God at all. I find these two articles ironic. I could not help but wonder what the enusing outcry would be if ads saying “I believe in God” were posted on a bus in Washington.
